Mark Towns & Cumere @ SXSW Guero’s Sat. 3/16/19

At 2019 SXSW in Austin, Texas, guitarist Mark Towns debuts his latest project, Cumere, a high-energy Latin music ensemble featuring Steve Zirkel (bass), Rene Gonzalez (congas), and Miles Towns (drums). Cumere takes classic rock, surf music, and jazz songs and performs them as instrumental cumbias and merengues. Cumere = “Cu” for “cumbia” + “mere” for “merengue.” It all adds up to fun!
